Castle Commandments 

Our pledge to every dog and their human parents

I. We shall value the concept of “prevention” for each Castle pet’s health, safety, security, well-being, and happiness.

II. We shall ensure pets only leave the Castle with their pet parents or someone designated by their pet parents. 

III. We shall always strive to be leaders of the pack in our industry—we continue to educate ourselves daily on the canine species, and we research trends and new discoveries in the industry that will benefit our canine guests.

IV. We shall value each pet’s individual differences, personalities, and interests—we shall celebrate and reward each dog's strengths and abilities; we shall use distraction methods to deter and decrease undesirable behaviors.

V. We shall take precaution with medications and special instructions for our royal dogs who have disabilities or special needs and accommodate the care they deserve.

VI. We shall lovingly coach and encourage each pet to act with good manners and basic obedience and reward them with love, attention, and healthy Castle treats. 

VII. We shall hire and retain only animal loving employees who speak gently to our Castle pets and treat them like royalty.

VIII. We shall be loving companions to each dog and express sincere and gentle concern for their feelings; we shall aim for them to think of us as their other family when away from their first family.

IX. We shall be committed to satisfying all reasonable requests of our human pet parents, and we shall notify pet parents of any incident involving their dog or any concerns we may have.

X. We shall strive to provide personal updates on text to each pet parent and post pictures daily on social media.

XI. We shall uphold integrity to the highest—we place the welfare of our pets above all other business operations.

XII. We shall treat each dog with patience, kindness, and be mindful of their individual needs for breaks when being placed into off-leash play groups.

XIII. We shall provide vigilant supervision to ensure the safest environment whether outdoors or inside.

XIV. We shall intervene if any dog is bullied by another dog to ensure each dog feels safe while here and confident upon leaving the Castle. 

XV. We shall provide fresh water indoors, outside, and in each dog's personal kennel several times a day in clean BPA-free containers. 

XVI. We shall ensure each meal is prepared as instructed by pet parents, and we shall help anxious dogs regain their appetite by supplementing small amounts of healthy irresistibles with their meal.

XVII. We shall control parasites and harmful pests at our facility without harming our dogs. 

XVIII. We shall provide clean safe climate controlled indoor shelter such as playrooms and private boarding chambers to protect each pet from injury or intrusion by other animals.

XIX. We shall aim to for all canine guests to have more time out of their kennels/sleeping chambers, and give them breaks to their kennel vs. breaks from their kennel.

XX. We shall provide secure and safe outdoor areas for adequate exercise and play—we shall separate each dog by size, temperament, play-style, age, and special needs as appropriate and provide constant supervision by trained staff. 

XXI. We shall rotate our off-leash groups from outside to inside throughout the day, and we shall take precaution from the elements in extreme heat or cold and inclement weather.

XXII. We shall dispose of dog waste immediately in an air tight receptacle to prevent fly infestation or contaminated run off.

XXIII. We shall sanitize our outdoor turf and indoor floors daily to prevent the spread of germs that can cause illnesses from canine to canine.

XXIV. We shall operate with strict procedures for cleaning and sanitization in each kennel or overnight chambers room using a pass or fail inspection system with requirements to re-do until it is immaculate.

XXV. We shall provide a rest area (quarantine) for any animal who might display symptoms of a communicable illness, and we will notify parents promptly.

XXVI. We shall keep the Grooming/Bathing/Spa areas sanitized and clean and free of foreign matter, hair, dirt, debris and parasites.

XXVII. We shall love your dog and their unique quirks just like we love our own dogs.
